Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease is not just one disease but a term headlining a number of chronic lung diseases (including chronic bronchitis and emphysema) that lead to damaged airways in the lungs.  Typical symptoms include: limited air flow, impeded lung function, shortness of breath, coughing, phlegm and other breathing related problems.

It may come as a shock when someone is diagnosed with COPD because there is no cure.  Until now the symptoms have been managed to slow down a worsening.  Now we look at an opportunity to improve the overall status and regain some of the lost quality of life.

Due to the number of positive reports from therapists and patients in different countries, we performed carefully controlled and monitored tests on a number of COPD patients to document the effects of inhaling air activated using SOE technology.

Background:
Atmospheric air activated by Singlet Oxygen Energy (SOE) technology leads to improved utilisation of available oxygen in the atmospheric air and to improved peak flow.  COPD patients often need oxygen therapy due to their increasing dyspnea and the resulting poor physical endurance.  This study evaluates whether SOE technology can improve physical capacity and lung function of COPD patients.

Patients and Methodology:
15 patients were subjected to daily 30-minute inhalation sessions using SOE technology over a period of 4 weeks.  On days 0, 14, 28 and 56 the following tests were performed:
- 6 minute walking (m)
- Lung function test
- Serological determination (leukocytes, Hb, Hct, Thrombocytes, CRP, electrophoresis)

Results:
During the 4 week SOE therapy, the physical capacity in the 6-minute walking test increased threefold from 100 to 300 meters.  This effect continued during the following therapy-free period for a further 4 weeks.  After 3 months without SOE therapy, the original status returned.  FEV1%VC improved during the 4 week therapy by 8,6% but fell to the original value during the post therapy observation phase.  Serologically, only the inflammatory activity CRP could be reduced by 83% during this short therapy period.  No changes were observed in the blood count. A secondary finding evident in all patients was a normalisation of their blood pressure.  None of the patients experienced any exacerbation of their disease during the follow up period.

Conclusion:
COPD patients using SOE therapy experienced a marked improvement in their physical capacity, an improvement of their lung function and a reduction of the inflammatory activity of their disease during the follow-up period
Recorded Results After 28 Days

Increased physical capacity

Improved lung function

Improved vital capacity (FEV1%VC)

Improved inflammatory parameters

No exacerbation during the trial period

Reduced blood pressure

Improved sleep patterns
